European Parliament hearing focuses on AI in criminal law and law enforcement

FRA outlined the main findings from its facial recognition technology paper during a European Parliament hearing in Brussels on 20 February.

The hearing focused on Artificial Intelligence in criminal law and its use by the police and judicial authorities in criminal matters.

Participants at the Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee hearing particularly asked FRA about a legal framework for law enforcement’s use of facial recognition technology.
