FRA takes part in intersex people in the EU study meeting
On 8 September, FRA took part in the kick-off meeting of the study on ‘Intersex people in the EU, a project of the European Commission’s Justice and Consumers Directorate-General.
An external contractor, ICF S.A. will conduct the study.
The study, combining qualitative as well as quantitative elements, aims to provide the Commission with a comprehensive analysis and overview of the socio-economic position and inclusion of intersex people in the EU, and the possible correlation between their socio-economic position, their health status, Intersex Genital Mutilation (IGM) and the applicable legal framework.
The study is part of measures for implementing the EU LGBTIQ Equality Strategy 2020-2025.
FRA will participate in this project as a Steering Committee member.
