The aim of this working paper is to describe the evolution of the work of the EUMC in gathering and analysing data and information on racism, xenophobia, discrimination and anti-discrimination since 2000, to reflect critically on how these techniques and methodologies have contributed to the drive for data reliability and comparability, and to show what lessons have been learned in order to improve methodologies of data collection in the future.
