Roma and Travellers in Public Education - Executive summary

The objective of this report is to present an overview of the situation regarding access to education of Roma and Traveller pupils in the European Union focusing on primary and secondary public education.

The report examines a range of available data and information on the education of Roma and Traveller pupils, as well as national educational strategies and policies in place, highlights problems of discrimination, exclusion and segregation, outlines the main relevant legal and policy initiatives, as well as perspectives and activities of other major actors, and presents conclusions and opinions addressing policy makers in the EU institutions and the Member States.
